Remembering Barcelona

In October I spent a long weekend in the lovely city Barcelona, Spain.
We had a really good time and here are some tips and ideas of what to do if you're about to pay the city a visit.

Get around

1. Your own two feet- you get to see a lot and can decide the route as you go along
2. Subway- like any other subway with day passes and discounts
3. Taxi- quite affordable

Eat

The food is really good. You can easily get a two- or three course lunch or dinner at a really affordable price. I prefer vegetarian alternatives and two good places for a veggie meal is Maoz (serving falafel, all over the city) or Juicy Jones. You'll find more vegetarian or vegan restaurants at Sincarne.net.

Go out

I went there with my loved one so we actually preferred quite dinners and wine. There are however plenty of bars and clubs. We went to a really cool place on a small backstreet near the old town. I would ask you to stay away from nightlife at Las Ramblas because it's really touristy and quite pricy. We felt that the streets were pretty safe to walk by night as well, but if unsure, I'd rather go for a cab. You should probably not walk around in Ravall at night either by the way, it's said to be a bit dodgy.

2 Do

1. Parc Güell- from the parc you'll get a really good view over the city
2. Parc de la Ciutadella- chill for a while, have a picnic or just enjoy the bohemian vibe.
There's a lot of jugglers and others practicing and hanging out with their friends there.
3.MACBA Modern museum of arts- when we were there they had good photo exhibition.

Other than that it's just cool to walk around the city and enjoy the fine architecture and the wibe of the city. There are many places to stop for ice-cream or coffee whenever you get tired.

Hope this gave you all some inspiration, feel free to ask questions or just leave a comment!
